Virtual Functional & Integrative Care for Women in Colorado
Physician-led functional, hormonal and metabolic care—wherever you are in Virginia.
Specialized care designed for women who want to look beyond symptoms and better understand the hormonal, metabolic and functional factors influencing their health.
Women throughout Virginia can work virtually with Dr. Kourtney Sims for specialized physician care focused on functional and integrative medicine, perimenopause and menopause, hormone replacement therapy, weight and metabolic health, and thyroid optimization.
Dr. Kourtney is a board-certified OB-GYN, obesity medicine physician, menopause specialist and functional medicine physician who brings these disciplines together to provide a whole-person approach to women's health.
Dr. Kourtney Sims provides virtual specialty care for women in select states with a focus on functional and integrative medicine, hormone replacement therapy, perimenopause and menopause, medical weight management, metabolic health and thyroid optimization.
Because virtual specialty care is not intended to replace your local primary care physician or gynecologist, patients outside of Houston, Texas where Dr. Kourtney is based should maintain an established local healthcare provider for routine preventive care, physical examinations, acute concerns and conditions that require in-person evaluation.

What Virtual Specialty Care Does Not Replace
Virtual specialty care with Dr. Kourtney is not a substitute for having a local primary care physician or gynecologist. When Your Health Has Been Last on the List
For many women, midlife arrives during one of the busiest seasons of life. You may be managing a demanding career, raising children, caring for aging parents, or simply carrying years of responsibility while your own health has gradually moved further down the list.
Then something changes. Your sleep isn't the same. Your weight or body composition begins to shift. Your energy becomes less predictable. Your periods change, brain fog appears, or you simply don't feel like yourself anymore. And being told that everything is "normal" doesn't necessarily help you understand what has changed.
My approach to caring for women in Virginia is designed to look at these concerns together rather than treating each one as an unrelated problem. Depending on what you're experiencing, we may explore perimenopause and menopause, hormone replacement therapy, thyroid health, weight and metabolic health, nutrition, stress, sleep and other functional factors that may be influencing how you feel.
The goal isn't to give you an impossibly complicated wellness routine or expect you to reorganize your entire life around your health. It's to identify what matters most, understand where meaningful opportunities for change exist, and develop a plan that can realistically fit into the life you're already living.
How Virtual Care Works for Virginia Patients
You don't have to travel to Texas to work with Dr. Kourtney. Eligible patients located in Virginia can receive specialty care through secure telemedicine visits from home.
Depending on the reason you're seeking care, your evaluation may include review of your medical history, symptoms, previous laboratory results and treatments, along with additional testing when appropriate. Your care plan may incorporate conventional medical treatment alongside nutrition, lifestyle, supplements, botanical approaches and other functional or integrative strategies when appropriate.
Because this is specialty virtual care, Virginia patients should maintain a local primary care physician and gynecologist for preventive care, physical examinations, acute concerns and conditions requiring in-person evaluation.
